Packaging Fine Mineral Salt for Livestock

The product in this project is not ordinary table salt. It is fine mineral salt intended for livestock feeding, commonly used as a mineral supplement for cattle and other farm animals.

This type of product generally requires packaging equipment that can handle:

• fine mineral salt;

• free-flowing salt powder or fine granules;

• animal feed mineral supplements;

• livestock salt;

• cattle mineral salt;

• mineral feed additives.

Because the customer's mineral salt has good flowability, a measuring cup dosing system was selected to achieve stable and continuous filling.

Why Use 316 Stainless Steel for Livestock Mineral Salt?

Mineral salt contains chloride and other mineral components that can increase the risk of corrosion when continuously contacting metal surfaces.

For this Peru project, SAMFULL specially configured the product-contact components in 316 stainless steel.

Compared with conventional stainless steel configurations, 316 stainless steel provides improved corrosion resistance, which is particularly useful for packaging salt and mineral-based products.

The main benefits include:

• better resistance to salt-related corrosion;

• improved durability of product-contact parts;

• reduced long-term corrosion risk;

• easier cleaning and maintenance;

• better suitability for continuous mineral salt packaging.

This was an important customized feature of the project rather than a standard machine configuration.

5kg PE Film Packaging for Animal Feed Mineral Salt

The customer uses PE roll film for packaging.

The SF-3.0T completes the packaging process automatically:

film feeding → bag forming → mineral salt dosing → filling → sealing → coding → finished bag discharge

The final package is a 5kg back-seal bag.

For livestock mineral salt producers, roll-film packaging is suitable for continuous production and can reduce manual bag handling compared with manually filling premade bags.

Measuring Cup Dosing for Free-Flowing Fine Mineral Salt

The customer's mineral salt has relatively good flowability, so the project adopts a measuring cup dosing system.

This dosing method is suitable for products with stable bulk density and good flow characteristics.

Typical applications can include:

• livestock mineral salt;

• cattle salt;

• animal feed salt;

• fine mineral granules;

• feed mineral supplements;

• other free-flowing granular or fine-particle products.

The final dosing configuration should still be selected according to the actual material density, particle size, flowability and required filling accuracy.

This project was customized according to three main characteristics of the customer's application.

5kg packaging requirement
The machine is configured for 5kg mineral salt bags instead of small sachets.

Fine and free-flowing mineral salt
A measuring cup system was selected based on the material's flowability.

Corrosive salt-based material
The contact parts were specially upgraded to 316 stainless steel for better corrosion resistance.

In addition, the machine was configured with 220V, 60Hz, single-phase power supply and a Spanish-language touchscreen interface, making it suitable for the Peru customer.

The final solution consists of:

SF-3.0T vertical packing machine + measuring cup dosing system + PE roll film + 5kg back-seal bag + 316 stainless steel contact parts + Siemens control system
