SF-200 Premade Doypack Packaging Machine for Chocolate Cocoa Powder + Marshmallow Mixed Packing Ecuador Customer Case

This project was customized for a customer in Ecuador, mainly used for packing chocolate cocoa powder and dehydrated marshmallow into premade doypack pouches.

The customer required one pouch to contain two different materials:

  • Chocolate cocoa powder: 100g per bag

  • Dehydrated marshmallow: 10g per bag

  • Bag type: premade doypack / stand-up pouch with zipper

  • Packing material: laminated composite film

  • Target speed: around 20 bags/min

  • Machine model: SF-200 premade pouch packing machine

Because chocolate cocoa powder and marshmallow have different material characteristics, this project required a customized dual filling system. The powder needs stable dosing and leakage control, while the marshmallow requires anti-sticking treatment and smooth material feeding.

Samfull provided an SF-200 premade doypack packaging machine equipped with a 50L powder dosing head and a 10-head 1.6L weigher with Teflon-sprayed contact parts, making it suitable for mixed powder and lightweight solid product packaging.

Customer Requirement

The Ecuador customer wanted to pack chocolate cocoa powder and marshmallow into the same retail pouch. This packaging format is commonly used for hot chocolate drink mix, instant chocolate beverage powder, confectionery powder mix, and powder products with small toppings.

The key requirements included:

  • Fill chocolate cocoa powder and marshmallow into one premade pouch

  • Use zipper doypack bags for retail packaging

  • Support Spanish operation interface

  • Reduce powder leakage during filling

  • Reduce marshmallow sticking during weighing

  • Print production date and expiry date on the pouch

  • Maintain stable production at around 20 bags per minute

This was not a standard single-material packaging project. The machine needed to coordinate two independent filling systems and ensure both products entered the pouch smoothly.

Technical Highlights

1. Dual Filling System for Chocolate Cocoa Powder and Marshmallow

The main technical point of this project is the dual filling system.

Chocolate cocoa powder is a fine powder material. During filling, it may create dust, powder leakage, and contamination around the sealing area if the filling structure is not properly designed.

Dehydrated marshmallow is light and irregular in shape. It can easily bridge, stick, or remain inside the weighing bucket if the material contact surface is not smooth enough.

To solve these two different problems, the machine uses:

  • 50L powder dosing head for chocolate cocoa powder

  • 10-head 1.6L multihead weigher for dehydrated marshmallow

  • Separate dosing control for each material

  • Coordinated filling sequence into the same pouch

This structure improves filling stability compared with using one common dosing system for both materials.


2. Teflon-Sprayed Contact Parts for Marshmallow Anti-Sticking

Marshmallow has a soft and slightly sticky surface. During continuous production, it may stick to the bucket, hopper, or product contact area, causing unstable feeding and inaccurate dosing.

For this project, Samfull added Teflon spraying treatment on the relevant contact parts used for marshmallow handling.

This design helps to:

  • Reduce marshmallow sticking

  • Improve product flow

  • Reduce material residue

  • Make cleaning easier

  • Improve weighing stability

  • Reduce downtime during production

For lightweight and sticky food materials, anti-stick treatment is an important customization detail.


3. Powder Leakage Control for Chocolate Cocoa Powder

Chocolate cocoa powder is finer than many granule products. In premade pouch packaging, powder leakage can affect bag sealing quality and finished pouch appearance.

The powder filling section was designed to support more stable powder discharge into the pouch. The purpose is to reduce dust and help keep the sealing area cleaner before heat sealing.

For this type of product, the key focus is not only filling accuracy, but also the control of powder flow during the filling process.

A more stable powder filling structure helps reduce:

  • Powder flying

  • Product leakage

  • Sealing contamination

  • Dirty pouch surface

  • Material waste

This is especially important for chocolate drink powder, hot chocolate mix, cocoa-based beverage powder, and similar fine powder products.


4. Zipper Doypack Opening System

The customer used premade zipper doypack pouches. Compared with normal flat pouches, zipper bags are thicker and more difficult to open.

Therefore, this machine was equipped with a zipper opening device to improve the pouch opening success rate.

The zipper opening structure helps ensure that the pouch is fully opened before filling, which is important for mixed-material packaging. If the bag is not opened properly, powder or marshmallow may not enter the pouch smoothly.

This design improves the stability of:

  • Bag taking

  • Bag opening

  • Zipper opening

  • Filling

  • Sealing

  • Finished bag output

For retail products, zipper doypack packaging also provides better consumer convenience because the pouch can be resealed after opening.


5. Siemens Control System with Spanish Interface

The machine was equipped with a Siemens control system and touch screen language options including Chinese, English, and Spanish.

For the Ecuador customer, the Spanish interface makes daily operation easier for local operators. Operators can check machine status, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot alarms more conveniently.

This is useful for reducing training difficulty and improving production management at the customer’s factory.
